The artist has given the entirety of his £25k honor winnings to the MVT, which functions to protect the United Kingdom's small concert spaces.

The star was awarded the award on 16 October as his new release the album was named the best record of the previous year.

Fender has chosen to donate the funds to the MVT, in recognition of the essential function grassroots venues fulfilled in his initial steps.

"I personally couldn't be pursuing my current career if it weren't for all the performances I played around the area, and beyond, when I was just getting going," remarked Sam Fender. "These spaces are iconic, but they are struggling."

Beginning in 2023, over 150 of these venues have ceased operations – roughly one-sixth of the entire UK sector.

Recently, major artists including the band Pulp, Coldplay, Katy Perry and Ed Sheeran have all supported the trust in its efforts to support the industry, by applying a minor surcharge to their ticket costs, which benefits independent venues.

He also participated, collecting in excess of £100,000 on his recent tour to support 38 local spots across Britain.

The money supported venues that were dealing with imminent closure due to difficulties stemming from floods, blazes and family tragedies, as well as permit problems, conflicts and noise complaints.

Some locations were granted funding support in improving infrastructure and gear that helped performers and audiences.

"The concept that funds from concerts in large arenas helps the local stages, where it kicks off for musicians like me, is just logical," Sam Fender has said.

Fender is far from the only musician to contribute his honor winnings to charitable organizations.

Back when Pulp earned the trophy in 1996 for their record their work, vocalist Jarvis Cocker announced that the act would contribute their cash to the organization War Child.

In 2002, musician she shared her award between several good causes, like the NSPCC and a Sickle Cell charity.

"Additionally, I gave a thousand pounds to the center, to their gymnastics class, because I trained in gymnastics when I was a child and they lacked updated gear," the artist shared with the media.

In recent years, they donated their winnings to the youth organization that supported their band, alongside other independent music bodies.

Additionally 1994 winners M People gave their winnings to a MS organization after a acquaintance was found to have the condition.

"The victory was quite enough," stated artist Small. "The cash was the bonus but we didn't need the cherry, because we had the cake. So our success affected the lives of others."

Last week, the trust announced it had saved two grassroots venues in the South East, by placing them under community ownership.

The Joiners in the city and The Croft in the city were acquired under the public acquisition scheme, which is funded by Arts Council England and enthusiasts who buy "shares" in the venues.
